Fort Worth – Services for John Cecil Adams, 91, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Cleburne, Texas. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Father Chris Culpepper and Father Mark Polley of Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church in Fort Worth will officiate.
The family will receive visitors from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne, Texas.
John passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born Feb. 5, 1921 in Brownfield, Texas to Oscar Adams and Ella Thompson Adams.
He served his county in the United States Navy during World War II.
John married Helen Sweeney on Feb. 5, 2000 in Meridian, Texas.
John began his United States government career with the Dept. of Energy (Atomic Energy Commission); Dept. of Agriculture at various locations; and finalized it with the Federal Aviation Administration in Fort Worth, Texas (Southwest Regional Office) where he served as Division Managers of the Civil Aviation Security Division and the Civil Rights Divisions. John retired from the FAA in 1984 and took on a non-paying rancher job which he loved and his longhorns loved him.
He was a member at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church in Fort Worth and an Elk member of the Fort Worth Lodge #124.
John was preceded in death by his parents; much loved wife, Virginia Adams; two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Sweeney Adams of Fort Worth, who he loved every day for twelve years; daughters, Cecilia Moucka and husband, Norman, of Fort Worth, step-daughter, Susan Ortiz of Utah; grandchildren, Camron Moucka of Fort Worth, Beth Fox and husband, Cody, of Ariz., Heather Haynie and husband, Jeremy of Utah, Debra Leonard and husband, Terry of Alvarado; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew and Jared Leonard, Nicholas, Andrew, Eli Richard and Emma Grace Fox, Brigham, McKell and Molly Haynie, and Jeremy Ortiz; nephews, Barry Binnoin, Larry and Ronny Vaught, Tim and Steve Green, and Billy Adams; and his favorite and loving Lab, RAVEN.
