Amelia Garcia

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our “Mimi”- Amelia Alvarez Garcia of Cleburne on the 12th of January 2024 at the age of 79 years.

Amelia was born on May 10, 1944 in Rio Grande City, Texas to the late Carlos and Amelia Alvarez.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers; Carlos Alvarez Jr., Ramiro Alvarez, Daniel Alvarez and Abel Alvarez.

She will lovingly be remembered by her children, Salvador Garcia Jr. and Rebecca Cash and her fiance, Guy McAnally; grandchildren: Presley and Caden Cash, and their father, Dustin, sisters: Alicia Bermudez, Dora Morin, Delia Cruz and Minnie Rodolfo, & twin brother: Alfredo Alvarez.

Amelia was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and, above all, a friend. Never meeting a stranger, she greeted others with a warm hello and engaging conversation. An incredible woman, she was self-made, learning English independently as a single mother with an amazing work ethic, crafting a life for her children and building her own success. Amelia had a green thumb and a love for her plants and flowers. Alongside her passion for gardening, she loved cooking and preparing meals for her loved ones - a true expression of her love. Most importantly, she cherished her family and took pride in her heritage. Fond of reminiscing on memories, she shared childhood stories about her parents and siblings, as well as memories about her children and grandchildren. Amelia spread boundless love to all the significant people in her life. She will be missed by her family and friends, but her legacy will live on.

There will be a celebration of life in May for friends and family who wish to attend.
