Obituary for Betty Anderson (Vaughan)

Services for Betty Vaughan Anderson, 86, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at St. Mark United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. The Rev. Donna Ware and Ben Oefinger will officiate. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Betty went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 8, 2016 in Fort Worth, Texas surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 22, 1930 in Cleburne, Texas to Darrah Mae (Russell) and Clarence Vaughan. Betty married William R. “Bill” Anderson, Jr. on Jan. 27, 1951 in Cleburne, Texas. She was a homemaker and an active member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. Betty was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School class. She was very active in her community and Betty received the Woman of Achievement Award from Zonta in 2003. She was recognized last year for 65 years of faithful service in the Watch and Work Circle of King’s Daughters. Betty was a volunteer and past board member of Meals on Wheels, and a charter member of the Heritage Assembly, Inc. She loved playing bridge, Bunco and attending Carnegie plays and productions at the Plaza.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Judge William R. “Bill” Anderson, Jr. on April 11, 2011.
She is survived by her son, Brian Anderson and wife, Karen Ellen, of Arlington; daughter, Becky Snider and husband, Chris, of Cleburne; grandchildren, Will Snider and wife, Rebecca, of Fort Worth, Elizabeth Anderson of Arlington; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
