Garland R. Ballew
A memorial service for Garland R. Ballew, 83, of Keene, Texas will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015 at the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Chapel.
Garland Ballew passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015 in Burleson, Texas. He was born April 21, 1932 in Amarillo, Texas to Lou Ella (Price) and William Emmett Ballew. Garland married Juanita Bischoff on Dec. 25, 1972 in Denver, Colorado. He served his country in the United States Navy aboard the submarine U.S.S. Threadfin during the Korean War. Garland retired from the United States Postal Service in Denver, Colorado where he served as an international mail clerk. He was a member of the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Garland was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Juanita Maxine Ballew and Wanda Fay Burks.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Ballew of Keene; son, Chuck Ballew and wife, Elaina, of Burbank, Calif.; daughter, Susan Noel Ballew of Clovis, New Mexico; brother, Wayne Ballew of Amarillo; sister, Norine Fay McDonald and husband, Fred, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; brothers-in-law, J.B. Burks of Arkansas and Robert Bischoff and wife, Vernelda, of Keene; sister-in-law; Barbara Koobs and husband, John D., of Cleburne, Texas; niece, Becky Wilkins and husband, Dale, of Greenbriar, Arkansas; mother of his children, Janet Ballew of Sacramento, California; and beloved Yorkies, Summer and Cheyenne-Chardonnay.
