Barbara Ellen Gehlin

Barbara Ellen Gehlin, aged 68, passed away on December 7, 2024, in Cleburne, Texas. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 15, 1956.

Barbara studied at William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. She would later dedicate 30 years of her life educating 1st thru 6th graders at three schools in District 54, Schaumburg, Illinois.

Barbara was a person of profound strength, caring and love. She possessed a remarkable sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around her. Barbara was an avid lover of the natural world and outdoor activities, which often found her capturing the beauty of landscapes through photography. Her collection of crystals, carved figurines, and unusual jewelry spoke volumes of her appreciation for the unique and beautiful.

Family was the cornerstone of Barbara's life. She is survived by her spouse, Eric A. Gehlin, her daughter, Andrea "Andi" Gehlin and her grandson, Abel Boone. Her mother, Grace Fogelstrom, and grandmother, Helen Woythal, as well as her uncle and aunt, John and Sheila Woythal, preceded her in death.

Barbara's legacy of love, laughter and the pursuit of knowledge will continue to inspire and influence the lives of the many people who knew her.
