Funeral services for Roger I. Bast, 84, of Cleburne, Texas were conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2011 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Glover officiating. The service closed with Masonic Burial Rites.
Mr. Bast passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011 in Cleburne. He was born in Alvarado, Texas on November 17, 1926, the son of Emma Lee (Smith) and Clarence Bast.
Roger was in the US Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a retired supervisor with the Santa Fe Railroad.
Roger was a Mason at the Cleburne Masonic Lodge #315 and was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Dallas Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Barbara Hammonds Bast.
Roger Bast is survived by his daughters, Beverly Langner and husband, Larry, Susan Sarchet and husband, Waco, all of Cleburne, and Jill Bast Gage and husband, Rusty Michael, of Borrego Springs, Calif.; grandchildren, Alison James and husband, Marty, of Weatherford, Heather Carmack and husband, Clay, of Cleburne, Lance Langner and wife, Katharine of Fort Worth, and Haley Watkins of Eugene, Oregon; four great grandchildren, Madison and Katie James of Weatherford, Alyssa and Thomas Cox of Cleburne; and nieces, Carol Daniel and Joan Hay of Houston.
