Obituary for Thomas Andrew "Tommy" Bates
Funeral services for Thomas Andrew “Tommy” Bates, 63, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop F. L. Ashley officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Darrell Moore, Matt Shrum, Colten Pena, Jordan Pena, Zack Karasic, and Brandon Hersom.
Mr. Bates passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 in Cleburne. He was born in Lubbock, Texas on Oct. 24, 1951, the son of Hattie Lou (Hersom) and Jack Marshall Bates.
Tommy Bates and Jeanie Oliver were married Dec. 27, 1991 in Cleburne. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Family Church and was a construction contractor.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Duquette.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Bates of Cleburne; sons, Michael Bates and wife, Jennifer, of Ponca City, Okla. and Travis Ashworth and wife, Jacqulin, of Cleburne; daughter, Angela (Bates) Karasic and husband, Robert, of Ocean, New Jersey; brother, James Bates of Blum, Texas; sister, Sue Meeley and husband, Johnny, of Ardmore, Okla.; grandchildren, Jordan, Colten, Darian, Taylor, Karleigh, Zachary, Emily, Mikayla, Trinity and Kinsley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
