Donald S. Bell
Covington—Funeral services for Donald S. Bell, 73, of Covington, Texas will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne, Texas. Tommy Johnston will officiate. Burial will follow in Derden Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Mr. Bell passed away on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 in Arlington, Texas. He was born in Brownwood, Texas on Nov. 17, 1940, the son of Geanie Maye (Douglass) and Alvie Forrest Bell.
Donald served his country in the United States Air Force from 1959-1963 during the Cold War. He received his BSEE at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Donald married Patsy Dunlap on Apr. 2, 1960. They had two children.
Donald worked as an electrical engineer on the F22 for Lockheed Martin for over 26 years, retiring in April of 2006. He was a member of the Rio Vista and Parker Church of Christ. He was a coach for the Tri-County Baseball Association, also serving as president.
Donald was also president of the Covington ISD Trustee Board.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Bell of Covington; daughter, Traci Leigh Bell Simmons and husband, Fred, of Covington; son, Bobby Breen Bell and wife, Michelle, of Cleburne; grandchildren; Kayce Goains, Bailey Thigpen, Rachal Simmons, Brett Bell, Brooks Bell, and Bryce Bell; and great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jase, and Justyn Goains.
