Betty Collins

Betty Joan Collins (Baldrige) was born on March 14, 1940, in Tucson, Az to Nelle Bell Borum & Lilborne Edward Baldridge. Betty was 84 years young when she passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

Betty was an amazingly strong and resilient woman. She had never met a stranger, and everyone was treated like family by her. Betty had some incredible stories about what it was like growing up in the 40’s, battling polio at a very young age, living life as a military wife, becoming a grandmother, and all the experiences of her life with the good, bad, and the ugly. She refused to let anything stand in her way of getting to where/what she wanted to be in life. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her, but most of all by her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother Nelle Bell Borum, her father Lilborne Baldridge, her first husband Gary Leroy Jordan, her second husband Gordon Collins, a daughter Renee Hill, a son Gary Edward Jordan, her brother Bill Baldridge, and a sister Billie Joann Fouse.

Betty is survived by her last living son Richard Jordan and his wife Sandy, her daughter Sheryl Collins-Winsett and her husband Shaun. Sisters Barbara Hammond and Pat Harried. Betty had 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Betty will be missed terribly, but her legacy of love for her family is what will continue to live on and keep her memory alive.
