Funeral services for Maxine Birdwell, 85, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2020 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sonny Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Rosser Funeral Home
Serving as pallbearers will be Jamey Bullard, Jeff Hastings, Alfred Stepherson, Brian Hoekstra, Tyler Bullard, and Garrett Stepherson.
Maxine Birdwell passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2020 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in Cleburne, Texas on May 25, 1935, the daughter of Hattie Viola (Smith) and Richard Max Andreas.
Maxine and Trittes Birdwell were married in Rio Grande City, in Star County, Texas. Maxine was the first female police officer in Cleburne serving from 1960 – 1976.
She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Trittes Birdwell; son, Robert Alan Bullard; and grandson, Trittes Dale Bullard.
She is survived by her children, Gay Turner and husband, Rick, of Cleburne, Joy Hoekstra and husband, Brian, of Euless, Texas, Samuel Bullard and wife, Barbara J., of Fort Worth, Estelle Stepherson and husband, Alfred, of Cleburne, and Randy Birdwell and wife, Chelley, of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
