Floyd Etheridge Blakeley

A Celebration of Life for Floyd E. Blakeley, Jr. will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church of Crowley, Texas.

Floyd passed from this life on January 2, 2021 at the age of 83. He was born December 24, 1937 to Floyd E. and Pauline M. (Clark) Blakeley in Fort Worth, Texas.
Floyd graduated from Tech High School in 1956, where he met his wife Wanda Brown. They were married September 22, 1956.
He started his career as a machinist then went to become a property tax consultant for Tarrant Appraisal and then into business for himself as Blakeley & Associates. Floyd also served in the US Air Force Reserves for eight years.
In his retirement years, he worked at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo for 22 years, which he absolutely loved.
Floyd was very active in his community serving as president of the Crowley Band Boosters and the CYA (Crowley Youth Association). He also coached his youngest daughter’s softball team for many years.
Floyd served on the Crowley School Board and Crowley City Council and was a volunteer fireman for Crowley.
He was an avid participant in the Vintage Chevrolet Club where he served as director, assistant director and board member. While a member of this club, Floyd and Wanda made many vintage car tours around Texas and across the U.S.
He also served as a session member for the First Presbyterian Church of Crowley.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Wanda; three daughters, Terri Shirley and husband, Randy, of Arnett, Oklahoma, Jan Blakeley of Irving, Texas, and Darla Mann and husband, Doug, of Mansfield Texas; sister, Margaret Beck and husband, Jerry, of Crowley, Texas; sister-in-law, Wennona Brown and husband, Joe, of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Brittney Longhofer, Kristin Shirley, Matt Shirley and wife, Savannah, and Marcus Mann and wife, Chelsea; great grandchildren, Luke, Abby Ella, Lily, Harlynn, Haddon, and Nixon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the First Presbyterian Church of Crowley, PO Box 207, Crowley, Texas 76036 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
