A private family burial will be conducted for William Vandiver “Van” Bonds, 85, of Cleburne, Texas at Hopewell Cemetery. Chaplain Don Anderson will officiate.
Van went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 in Cleburne. He was born March 19, 1935 in DeQueen, Arkansas to Oza (Childs) and Albert Rye Bonds. Van married the love of his life, Patricia Rollins, on Dec. 18, 1961 in Rockwall, Texas. They just had their 59th wedding anniversary.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and graduated from TCU in 1963. Van was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of First United Methodist Church Joshua.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Van is survived by his wife, Patricia Bonds of Cleburne; children, Teresa Lee Bonds of Fort Worth, Patricia Ann Bonds Duncan and husband, Kevin, of Haslet, William Vandiver Bonds, Jr. and wife, Shannon, of Parker, Colorado; grandchildren, William Duncan, Alexis Duncan, Dylan Bonds, Ellison Bonds, and Becca Bonds; and numerous other friends and family.
