Gary Lee Broadus, 70, of Granbury, Texas passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Gary was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on November 18, 1950, to Billie Louise (Townes) and Grover Cleveland Broadus.
Gary loved visiting with people and never met a stranger. He was a commercial general contractor. He had also owned and operated two convenience stores in Granbury, Texas: Gary’s Lakeside Store and Broadway Express. After selling these businesses, Gary built, owned, and operated the Sonic Drive-In in Hico, Texas. Since 2018, Gary owned and operated Gigi’s Cupcakes in Granbury.
He loved flying and earned his private pilot license. Gary also loved cooking and playing daily challenges on computer games. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Lester and husband, Dave; and special aunt, Ruby Slater.
Gary is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara (Webb) Broadus of Granbury; son, Chad Broadus and spouse, Suzanne Matson, of Spokane, Washington; daughter, Tammy Parish and spouse, Mark, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; brother, G. C. “Butch” Broadus and spouse, Jackie, of Weatherford, Texas; sister-in-law, Lisa (Webb) Pair and spouse, LaVirl, of Hico, Texas; brother-in-law, Robert L. Webb, Jr. of Cleburne, Texas; grandchildren, Rhett Parish and spouse, Tracy, Seth Parish and spouse, Angelie, Zoe Broadus, and Xander Broadus; great grandchildren, Baler, Karter, Kross, and Samuel; longtime family friend, Kathy Alford; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
