Celebration Services for Shelly Renee Caldwell, 48, of Grandview, Texas will be conducted Thursday, February 21, 2019, at 4:30pm at the First Baptist Church Grandview. The Rev. Michael Lehnhardt and Buddy Fry will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Ishmael, Jared Ishmael and Noah Hayes. Dress for the celebration will be jeans since that was her favorite.
Shelly passed away Sunday, February 17th in Fort Worth, Texas surrounded by her family. She was born in Fort Worth on May 22, 1970, daughter of Peggy (Daggs) and Ray VanZandt. She was a lifelong resident of Grandview and graduated Grandview High School in 1988. She graduated from Hill Junior College and Tarleton State University with a degree in Education. She taught in Grandview ISD for 20 years. Her passions were her faith, her daughters, family and her students. She was a great mother, daughter, sister and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and doing crafts. She was a member of the Chambers Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ray VanZandt and niece, Kristy VanZandt.
Shelly is survived by her daughters, Macy Caldwell and Ruby Caldwell; mother, Peggy VanZandt; sister, Susie Ishmael and husband, Clint, all of Grandview; and brother Lloyd VanZandt and wife, Teresa, of Blanket, Texas.
She loved her many nieces and nephews: Ronald and Nikki Ishmael of Alvarado, Texas, Jared and Rachel Ishmael of Grandview, Jodi and Drew Dickenson of Lorena, Texas and Jessie and Tana VanZandt of Blanket. She also loved her great nieces and nephews: Leia, Josiah, Laykin, Amelia and Cohen Ishmael.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to start a scholarship in her name. It would make her heart happy to know that she could help students pursue their dream.
