Don “Big Don” Callaway
Services for Don “Big Don” Callaway, 80, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Field Street Baptist Church in Cleburne. The Rev. John Glover will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rosser Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Brett Johnson, Kevin Rousseau, Bart Key, Chris Key, Kent Meyer, and Joe Don Threadgill.
Big Don went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 2, 2014 in Cleburne. He was born April 4, 1934 in Cleburne to Alyne Johnson and Jimmy Joe “Preacher” Callaway. He married Shirley Key on July 11, 1952 in Cleburne. Big Don was a car dealer and a member of Field Street Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dan Callaway; and sister-in-law, Pinkie Callaway.
Big Don is survived by his wife, Shirley Callaway of Cleburne; son, Barry Don Callaway and wife Tami of Cleburne; daughters, Debe Owens and husband Dane, Cherlynn DeBie and husband John all of Cleburne; adopted son, Greg Brown of Cleburne; sister, Barbara Rousseau and husband Richard of Joshua; grandchildren, Lee McKellar, Marty Timmons, Michael Timmons, Michael Callaway, Beau McKellar, Cody Callaway, Cristin Callaway, Neely Owens, and Mason Timmons; great-grandchildren, Caroline, Connor and Kilian Timmons; Lola McKellar, Carson Don Callaway, and Charli Grace Cornelius; and numerous other family member.
Memorials may be made to Freedom Hospice at 1907 Ascension Blvd. #200, Arlington, Texas, 76006; Heritage Trails Activity Fund at 301 Lincoln Park Drive, Cleburne, Texas 76033; or Field Street Baptist Church at 201 N. Field St. Cleburne, Texas 76033.
