Carrie Gray Prince, 87, affectionately known as Nanny to all who knew her, gained her angel wings on Monday, February 3, 2025.
Nanny was born on May 22, 1937, in Alvarado, Texas to the late Lillie and John Gray. To know Nanny was to know unconditional love. She was the picture of love.
Her contagious smile and positive attitude were constant reminders of her unwavering faith and perseverance.
Carrie's one true passion in life was to be a great homemaker. There was nothing she loved more than being a good mom, Nanny, and friend. She was always a patient ear to listen without judgment and had a warm meal ready for anyone who stopped by hungry.
Truth is, Nanny will be missed deeply, by many people. We will forever cherish all the warm hugs, sweet smiles, and kisses she would blow to you on your way out the door. In this time of grief, I think she wants us to remember that this is not goodbye, just see you later. "Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I would prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going." (John 14:1-3)
Nanny is survived by a long legacy including her daughter, Mary Mosley; grandchildren, Brittany and Kacey Honea, Brian Eddy and Heather Williamson, Brandy and Drake Staley, Payton and Angel Botello, Makayla and Jacob Roberts, Willie Mosley IV, and Journey Gossett; her daughter-in-law, Sylvia Prince; and brother, Billy Gray. Nanny was even a great-grandmother to 11 great-grandchildren who she adored.
Carrie is preceded in death by her husband, Pete Prince; her son, Jessie Prince; her mother and father, Lillie and John Gray; her beloved sister, Shirley Dice; her niece, Tammy Bradley; her son-in-law, Willie Mosley III; and grandson, Harley McKinney.
Visitation will be held at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 6-8:00 p.m. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne.
At this time, the family would like to acknowledge her extended family at Heritage Trails. Thank you all for loving our Nanny as we did. Christa, She loved you like a second daughter. Jina, you were the only one who could get Nanny to shower when no one else but her daughter or granddaughter could. Sara, Katie, and Gerardo, I know she gave y'all a run for your money with that stubborn side she had, but she knew you were there to help her, and she loved you for that. We couldn't have asked for a better team for our Nanny, we are forever grateful and y'all will always be family to us.
