Delda Tyler Carter, 86, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 in Cleburne. Mrs. Carter was born on November 2, 1933 in Victorville, California to Erma (Disney) and Brace Tyler. In 1951, Delda graduated from Victorville High School, and was crowned Miss Orange County the same year. She married William “Bill” Carter on January 13, 1952 in Victorville, California. Delda was a member of the Cleburne Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend. Well known for her spunky personality, storytelling, and cheerful spirit, she was always eager to entertain by playing the boogie-woogie on the piano.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Bill Carter; father, Brace Tyler; mother Erma Tyler; and sisters Doreen Silvestri and Dale Lake.
She is survived by daughters, Kim Stepp and husband, Dub of Rio Vista, Teri Jones and husband, Dale of Cleburne, Tracy Carter of Denver, Colorado, and Tris Black and husband, Grady of Cleburne; brothers, Don Tyler and Dennis Tyler; grandchildren, Amy Fenn, Josh Stepp, Josey Chadwell, Jacob Chadwell, Maddison Black, Dean Black, Ethan Stepp, and Pete Black; 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Delda Tyler Carter will be conducted at 3:00pm on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 303 S. Nolan River Road, Cleburne, TX 76033. A private burial will be held Grange Hall Cemetery in Rio Vista, Texas.
