Keene—Funeral services for Cecil Clifford Chastain, 73, of Keene, Texas will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug.18, 2012 at the Cleburne Seventh-day Adventist Church, 111 Meadowview Drive, 76033. Dr. Tony Torres will officiate, assisted by Pastor Harley Charles.
There is no visitation.
On Aug. 14, 2012, Cecil Chastain passed away surrounded by his family. He was born in Donna, Texas, on Jan. 22, 1939, to Frank and Ethel Chastain.
He was a great influence on the many lives he touched as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather.
Mr. Chastain served in the Army from Sept 3, 1957 to Sept. 1977 retiring as a1st Sergeant. After retiring, he went on to be a truck driver, Foster parent, and then a correctional officer at Johnson County Jail.
Cecil was married to Frances Patricia Chastain on May 22, 1979. They just celebrated their thirty- third wedding anniversary.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ethel and Frank Chastain; two sisters and one brother.
Cecil Chastain is survived by his wife, Pat Chastain; son and daughter-in-law, SJoerd (Dutch) and Peggy Chastain of Gatesville TX, son and daughter-in-law, Johan and Sheila Chastain of Gatesville Tx, son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Shelley Timmons of Saipan, daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Bob Karr of California, daughter, Arloa (LoAnn) Green of Georgia, daughter, Christine Owens of Joshua, Tx,, daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Terry Spradlin of Keene, Tx, daughter and son-in-law, Donalyn and Wayne Worthey of Cleburne, Tx, daughter Sarah Chastain of Keene, Tx.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother and sister -in-law, Fred and Dian Chastain of Keene, Tx; sisters, Katy Kimbrow of Keene, Tx, and Winona Stewart of Burleson, Tx.
