Clara Morton

Funeral services for Clara Nell Morton, 81, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, at First Baptist Church Cleburne with Pastor Chris Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy, Weatherford, TX 

A visitation will be held for family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2024, at Rosser Funeral Home.

Clara passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in Lampasas, Texas on February 21, 1943, the daughter of Lois Lucille (Vandergriff) and Douglas Eugene Conner.

Clara married Thomas Morton on July 6, 1961, in Arlington, Texas. She retired as a billing clerk for Worsham, Forsythe, Samples, and Wooldridge Law Firm. Clara was an excellent cook, caregiver, den leader, and coach. Clara was a member of First Baptist Church Cleburne.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Byron Connor and Brady Connor. 

Clara is survived by her husband of 63 years, Tom Morton of Cleburne; daughter, Cynthia Catchpole of Cleburne; sons, Troy Morton and wife, Gidget, of Ripley, Mississippi and Tommy Morton and wife, Wendy, of Springtown, Texas; grandchildren, Heather Cawood and husband, Andrew, Katie Catchpole and Ethan Johnston, and Riley Morton and Randy Nix; great grandchild, Carson Cawood; brother, Doug Conner and wife, Mary, of Emory, Texas; and other family members and friends.
