Funeral services for Ruth Anita (Mitchell) Cleaver, 74, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2021 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel in Cleburne, Texas with the Rev. Ken Coleman officiating. Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Rosser Funeral Home. Interment will be in Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Cleaver, Adam Mathers, Edgar Mendez, Christian Newman, Charles Sandling and Leo Marler.
Ruth passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at a local care facility.
Ruth was born October 14, 1946 in Waxahachie, Texas, to Loyal Champton and Nona Irene Mitchell. She attended school in Waxahachie from elementary through high school. She met Billy Lloyd Cleaver in early 1964 and they were married soon after.
Over the course of their 56 years together, she became a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye and she absolutely loved spending time with them. She will be greatly missed by everyone that had the privilege of knowing her. We love you Nana!!
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Champton Eugene Mitchell Jr, James Dean Mitchell, and Jimmy Dale Mitchell; sister, Linda Jo (Mitchell) Williams; nephews, Jimmy Dale Mitchell II and John Wesley Mitchell.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Billy Lloyd Cleaver; daughter, Ginger Cleaver Mathers and husband, Kenneth; sons, Jim Cleaver and wife Kim, and Michael Cleaver and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren, Rhian Cleaver Sandling, Robin Mathers Mendez, Timothy Cleaver, Whitney Newman, and Adam Mathers; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Mara Johnston, Christian, Faith and Ashlynn Newman, and Lucas and Logan Mendez; brother, Lynn Mitchell; sister, Kay Mitchell White; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
