First Sergeant Jonathan M. Compton, USMC
Funeral services for First Sergeant Jonathan M. Compton, USMC, 33 of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2014 at Cleburne Bible Church, 930 N. Nolan River Rd, Cleburne, TX 76033.
There is no visitation scheduled.
Jonathan passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014. He was born in Arlington, Texas on Jan. 16, 1981, the son of Patti (Turk) and Richard Compton. Jonathan graduated from Cleburne High School in 1999. He married Sara Lewis on June 9, 2006 in Escondido, Calif.
Jonathan proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 15 years to include combat.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Laurence Turk.
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Sara Compton and their daughters, Alexandra “Lexie” Compton and Bailey Compton; parents, Richard and Patti Compton of Cleburne; brother, David Compton of Cleburne; sister, Christina Esselman and husband, Jarret, of Waxahachie, Texas; grandmother, Elizabeth “Granny” Spiegel of Watauga, Texas and grandfather, Billy Ray Compton of Granbury, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Jonathan’s memory be made to TADSAW (Train A Dog, Save A Warrior), 13423 Blanco Road, San Antonio, Texas 78216.
