Corine Akers

Graveside services for Corine Marie Akers, 92, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Tye Cemetery in Abilene, Texas with Pastor Joe Bushnell officiating.

There is no visitation scheduled.

Mrs. Akers passed away Sunday, May 10, 2024, at her home. She was born in Dickens County, Texas on February 28, 1932, the daughter of Linnie C. (Williams) and W. R. Cornelius. She married Floyd Akers on September 17, 1948 in Tom Green County, Texas.

She was a LVN and worked for the State of Texas at the Abilene State School for over 15 years. Mrs. Akers was a member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God in Cleburne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Akers; daughter, Rhonda Mitchell; grandson, Jeremy Akers; and six sisters.

Mrs. Akers is survived by her son, Ray Akers and wife, Alicia, of Lubbock, Texas; Sonja Goodloe and husband, David, of Cleburne and Darla Blake and husband, Sam, of Edmund, Oklahoma; sisters, Delaney Grayson and Willa DuBost, both of Washington, and Deborah of Fort Worth, Texas; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
