Dallas - Services for Esther Marie Cotton, 93, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday,
Jan. 12, 2013 at Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. The Rev. Johnny Walker will officiate. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Esther passed away on Jan. 9, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. She was born April 20, 1919 in Cleburne, Texas to William Manley Joplin and Bertha Hassatine Cummings Joplin. Esther married Orville Cotton on Jan. 6, 1937 in Cleburne, Texas and was married 70 years. She owned and operated beauty shop, was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church in Cleburne, and received a lifetime membership award to the Women’s Society of Christian Service.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville Cotton; daughter, Joanne Cotton; and sister, Thelma Simons.
She is survived by her son, Bill Cotton and wife Sue of Eagle Nest, New Mexico; daughter, Jerrilynn Weeks and husband Newt of Dallas; sister-in-law, Veta Mae Stringer of Cleburne; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.
