A memorial service for Cynthia Gaye Nutt will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Charlie Goodson officiating.
Cynthia Gaye Nutt, 70, of Dripping Springs, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2023.
Cynthia Nutt was born in Cleburne, Texas on February 17, 1953, the daughter of Dewey C. James, Jr. and Charlotte James. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her son, James Nutt; daughter-in-law, Julie Nutt; granddaughter, Loretta Nutt; grandson, Levi Nutt; brother, Guy James and sister-in-law, Candy James; and nephews, Guy Neil James II and Gavin James.
Cynthia was a woman who loved to laugh, loved to give, and loved to find a “good deal.” It brought her so much joy to find “goodies” to give her loved ones. She had such a giving heart. It brought her so much joy to find the perfect gift for someone she cared about. No one was better at getting the discount. She loved shopping, staying on top of the latest styles and trends, and much rather enjoyed gifting items to a loved one over getting something for herself. She was a brilliant woman with a keen business sense.
Cynthia overcame many tragedies in her life. Her husband was killed early on in their marriage leaving her with a three year old to raise. Three years later, she tragically lost her mother to cancer. Cynthia herself successfully defeated cancer. All of these trials only made her stronger, and fueled her will to live life to the fullest. And she did.
She took such great pride when it came to raising her son. She eased his pain of losing his father by affording him with as many opportunities and positive experiences as she could. As a result, he had an amazing childhood filled with so many great adventures. She had a passionate love of music and she enjoyed sharing that with her son. She always knew what was hip, and made sure that he learned to play it on the guitar. They had some of their happiest times just simply listening to great music together.
The heavens opened up whenever Cynthia smiled and her family praises God that she is in heaven now, reunited with her husband, looking down on us and watching over as we navigate this life.
