David Clyde Rodney, II

David Clyde Rodney II, son of the late David Clyde Rodney I, and Elizabeth Rachel Rusk Rodney, was born March 25, 1941 in Fountain County, Indiana. He departed this life February 23, 2025 at his home "Happy Acres" in Violet Hill, Arkansas at the age of 83. He was united in marriage to Esther May Chapman November 28, 1959 in Sheridan, Illinois and together they raised two children. David spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent in the construction field working on large structural steel buildings all over the country. He loved to travel and made sure his children & grandchildren also had experiences on "Dave's Famous Family Vacations". Through his construction connections he was able to travel to Africa, China, and England. He also checked off a bucket list trip from Texas to Alaska on his motorcycle with his bride. He loved to tell stories & have spirited debates at the dinner table. He was of the Seventh-Day Adventist faith and a member of the Mountain View Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He will be missed by all who knew him and especially his family for his laugh, love and advice.

David is survived by his wife of 65 years: Esther Rodney; one son: Scott (Celia) Rodney of Keene, Texas; one daughter: RoxAnn (Jeff) Rodney Isbrecht of Hartford, Michigan; one sister: Pamela Rodney Neal of Berkley Springs, West Virginia; five grandchildren: Ryan (Ashley) Isbrecht, Sarah (Brad) Manning, Melissa (Mike) Tepool, Aaron Rodney, Jacob Isbrecht, eight great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Myla, Charlotte, Sloane, Molly, Logan, Maisy & Vivian. And a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Lisa Rodney Muniz.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Keene Memorial Park Cemetery, 301 Pioneer Drive, Keene, Texas. Pallbearers: Scott Rodney, Ryan Isbrecht, Sarah Manning, Melissa Tepool, Aaron Rodney, Jacob Isbrecht.
