Charles E. Dobbins
A memorial service for Charles E. Dobbins, 87, of Cleburne, Texas will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Watts Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Delbert Taylor will officiate.
There is no visitation scheduled.
Mr. Dobbins passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born in Cleburne on Feb. 5, 1927, the son of Mary Lee (Stewart) and Charles E. Dobbins.
Charles married Juanita Gatlin on June 17, 1948 in Cleburne. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Charles was retired from Santa Fe Railroad and was a member of Watts Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Joe Dobbins.
Charles Dobbins is survived by his wife of 65 years, Juanita Dobbins of Cleburne; sons, Ronald Edward Dobbins and wife, Glenys, Randal Lee Dobbins and wife, Caroline, all of Grandview, Texas, and Monty Jacob Dobbins and wife, Christi, of Cleburne; daughter, Sherri Lynn Dobbins and fiancé , Jerry Wingate, of Cleburne; grandchildren, Danny Stewart, Joy Boden, Cris Dobbins, Sarah Bailey, Cassie Garza, Reagan Dobbins, and Jake Dobbins; six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Dobbins and wife, Kay, of Calif.; and sisters, Dixie Jividen and husband, Leroy, of N. Carolina and Nell Shields and husband, Curly, of Burleson, Texas.
