Doris Siratt

Doris Evelyn "Evs" Siratt, 95, passed away on March 6, 2025. She was born on December 3, 1929, in Grandview, Texa5 to Elmer F. Siratt, Sr. and Eva M. Lyon Siratt.

Evs graduated from Grandview High School in 1947 and attended Hill College for two years. A striking beauty, she competed in several beauty pageants before embarking on a career that took her across the country. She worked as Secretary to the President at Greyhound and later Trailways, living in Fort Worth, Kansas City, San Francisco, and Phoenix before settling in Dallas and eventually Plano. ln her later years, she returned to her beloved hometown of Grandview, Texas. Evelyn had a passion for travel and a deep love for her family.

She was preceded in death by both parents; her brother, Elmer F. Siratt, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Sis Siratt.

She is survived by her nieces, Penny Rice and husband, Randy and Lisa McGowen and husband, Chuck; great-nephew, Grant Rice and wife, Shannon, and their daughters, Allie and Ansley; great-niece, Leah Parent and husband, Benji, and their sons, Braylen and Mason.

Evelyn was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be remembered for her kindness, elegance, and adventurous spirit.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Grandview Nursing Home or the Grandview Cemetery Association. 

A family celebration of her life will be held later this year.
