She was born in Weimar, Germany on March 23, 1945, Daughter of the late Edmund and Susan Hidas. Preceded in death by her dear husband Ron, her brother Pete, and daughter in law Tracy. Edith married her beloved Ron in 1965 when they eloped to Las Vegas. Together they created a beautiful family which led to her greatest joy, being a mom and then later a "Grammy".
Edith was heavily involved in her community. During her 49 years in Azusa, she was the longest running member of the historical commission and organized the annual Azusa Relay for Life fundraiser event. In 2016 she was selected to be the "Honored Citizen" of the year where her contributions to the community were officially recognized with a formal luncheon award ceremony and a prime spot in the local parade. Edith also played a critical role in her charitable work for "Wish Upon a Toy", which is a charity that was created by her youngest son, Ryan, to benefit the children in the City of Hope cancer hospital during Christmas.
