Obituary for John Robert Engel

John Robert Engel, 55, died Friday afternoon, April 6, 2018 at his home in Keene, Texas from complications due to congestive heart failure. John was born July 19, 1962 in Pasadena, California. He was the eldest of four children. He was active in his community including membership on Keene’s City Development Board. He was also the owner/proprietor of Data Limited, a business specializing in computer services such as programing, installing, recovering, building and re-building computers. He is remembered as a generous, caring, intelligent individual. He touched many people’s lives and hearts. He is survived by his mother and father, Linda and John P. Engel; his three sisters, Linda Beckwith and her husband Jets and her two children, Jameson and Lindsay; Christine Love and her husband Mark and daughter Sierra; Ruth Engel-McEntire and her husband Brad and their son, David Thaddeus, and close friend Calli DaJarnett and her children, Cooper and Charlotte, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many good friends. On Sunday, May 27 we would like to invite you to join us in “Remembering John R. Engel” at the Chisholm Trail Academy Gymnasium from 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the John Robert Engel Technology Memorial Fund that is being established at Chisholm Trail Academy (more information to follow). Also, please contribute to a memory book about John. Please write down your stories about him and email them to rememberingjohnrengel@gmail.com. These stories will be compiled into a book of memories for his family. John’s family extends their thanks to the overwhelming response of kindness from friends and family.
