Obituary for Leslie Thurman "L. T." Etchison

Funeral services for Leslie Thurman Etchison, 80, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel in Cleburne, Texas. The Rev. Jerry Melson will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Etchison, better known as L. T., was born to Cliff and Altha (Cummings) Etchison on January 8, 1936 in Steiner, Texas and passed from this life on Friday, September 16, 2016 at his home.
L. T. grew up and attended school in Kopperl, Texas. On May 17, 1954, L. T. married Betty Jean Adams in Fort Worth, Texas. He enjoyed work at the Hunnington Sheridon Hotel in Pasadena, California in his early years. L. T. also farmed and ranched most of his life which he enjoyed so much. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and spending time in his workshop.
He also enjoyed repairing anything that needed fixing for people and gardening that he shared with people, neighbors and friends.
L. T. was always a hard worker and would always help anyone that needed help.
His daughter said the Lord gave me the best daddy there was and his sons say he was their best buddy. Also in L. T.’s last few months he enjoyed praying for people.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Bonnie Jean Etchison; granddaughter, Mandy Jean Etchison; brothers, J. C., George Ed, Bob Nathaniel, Meral and Billy Ray; and sister, Martha Shivers.
L. T. is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Lee Etchison of Texas, L. T. “Tom” Etchison of Rio Vista, Texas and Wesley Etchison and Amber Cheatam of Pauls Valley; daughter, JoAnn Parten and husband, Jerry, of Pauls Valley; sisters, Pauline Brazwell of Keene, Texas, Pearl Hardin and Oniell Todd, both of Kopperl; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
