A homegoing celebration for Jo Ann Fincher, 77, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 3, 2019 in the Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Autry Pryor Jr., Devasean Pryor, Jermain Murry, Willie Ellis, Derk Ellis, and Elijah Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Derrik Walton, Joe Chandler, Lewis Clay, Darren Wiley, Darcel Walton and Pete Crowder.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8:00 P.M. Friday, at Rosser Funeral Home.
Evangelist Jo Ann Fincher went home to be with the Lord on July 25, 2019 in Cleburne. She was born December 7, 1941 in Houston to Deola (Benjamin) and Lewis Vernon Ellis.
Jo Ann was the oldest of six children. The family moved to Odessa at an early stage in her life and she attended Douglas and Blackshear Schools.
Known affectionately as “Granny”, Evangelist Jo Ann was an avid crafter, baker and she loved teaching. She was a school bus driver for many years with the Odessa ISD. She was an active member of Emmanuel Temple ORM. She is survived by her four children, Autry Pryor and wife Joyce of Fort Worth, Samuel White and wife Glinda and Sammie V. White, all of Odessa and Vernice A. White of Fort Worth; 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; sisters, Rose M. Ellis and Mary A. Ellis, both of Odessa; brother, Toronto Ellis of Midland; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Janice Ellis and a brother, Lewis Ellis “Flubba”
