Mellie Hathaway Floyd,
Funeral services Mellie Hathaway Floyd, 89, of Mesquite, Texas will be conducted Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Mizell and Bishop F.L. Ashley officiating. Burial will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Mrs. Floyd passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2012 in Garland, Texas. She was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas on March 10, 1923, the daughter of Thomas Franklin Hathaway and Mellie Cornell Hathaway.
She married H.R. Floyd on Sept. 14, 1940 in Sherman, Texas. Mellie was a member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God for over 60 years. She was also a member of the Twilight Garden Club and Cleburne Newcomers Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, H.R. Floyd; and son, Tommy R. Floyd.
Mellie Floyd is survived by her daughters, Lynda K. Corbin, of Mesquite, Alyce Stafford and husband, Lyndall of Rowlett, Elizabeth Hoyle, of Garland, Debi Ridings and husband, Jimmy of Fort Worth; grandsons, Terry Floyd, Anthony Corbin, Matthew Stark, Donald Hoyle, Jr., Justin and Alex Cappers; granddaughters, J. Dawn Corbin, Destiny Hoyle, and Karen Medeiros; and 13 great grandchildren.
