Frances E. Straughan

Frances Ernestine Mangold Straughan, 104, passed away at home on November 2, 2022, in Edmond, Oklahoma. Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne, Texas is making the arrangements for the grave side service to be held at the Rio Vista Cemetery on November 5, 2022, at 2:00pm.

Frances Ernestine Mangold Straughan was born in Cuero, Texas February 11, 1918. She received a B.S. degree in Nutrition at TWU in Denton, Texas in preparation for a career as a Dietitian. She served an internship at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, as a Hospital Dietitian. She worked 15 years at several hospitals. She retired to rear her children.

While living in Cleburne, Texas, Frances was a member of Central Church of Christ, DAR, Johnson County Art Guild, and The Genealogy Society. In 1996, Frances moved to Rockwall, Texas and was a member of Eastside Church of Christ, DAR, Rockwall Newcomers Club, and The Red Hats.

Frances was preceded in death by her mother, Nan J. Mangold and her father, William Henry Mangold (1919); her husband, Milton E. Straughan, her brother, William J. Mangold, and her nephew, William J. Mangold, Jr.

Frances is survived by her son Stephen Straughan and wife Karen, Rockwall, Texas; daughter Nancy Mitchell, Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter Sharon Devoto and husband Kim, Alexandria, Virginia; granddaughter Ashley Marks and husband Steve; grandson Zachary Straughan, granddaughter Emily Siemers and husband Aaron; grandson Michael Mitchell and wife Carolyn; grandson Matthew Devoto and wife Amanda; granddaughter Amanda Devoto and husband Jon Lopez, and 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
