Obituary for
Douglas Gassaway Sr.
Douglas Ray Gassaway, Sr., 82, of Blum, Texas went home to the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2017.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Cleburne Bible Church in Cleburne, Texas followed by a private family burial.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Levi McPherson, Wyatt Gassaway, Jordan Gassaway, Justin Butler, Chris Davis and Seth Miskell.
Doug passed peacefully at his home in Blum surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on September 16, 1934, to Ola Mae (Barr) and Hollis Gassaway.
Doug lived a long life full of great memories.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hollis Gassaway; mother, Ola Mae Barr; and first wife, Genova Gassaway.
Doug is survived by his wife, Virginia Gassaway of Blum; their children, William Gassaway and wife, Evelyn of Blum, Regina Sutton and husband, Greg, of Blum, Douglas Gassaway, Jr. and wife, Pamela, of Joshua, Texas, Heidi Carrington of Cleburne, Megan Rowlson and husband, Dale, of Cleburne, Sue Ann Sawyer of Fort Worth, Texas, Paul Butler, Jr. and wife, Teresa of Kemp, Texas, Norman Butler and wife, Christy of Kaufman, Texas and Wynona Sharp, also of Kaufman; sister, Patricia Sexton of Whitney, Texas; brothers, Bill Shope and Rick Shope, both of Fort Worth, Texas; 29 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
