George Willis

Nathan George Willis, born on September 15, 1955, in Cleburne, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, at the age of 69. He was a lifelong resident of Cleburne, where he built a legacy of kindness, hard work, and dedication to his community.

Nathan was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lottie Willis, as well as his siblings, Becky and Gary Willis. He leaves behind a loving family, including his son, Nathan John Willis, and his daughter-in-law, Neana Willis, as well as his cherished grandchildren, John and Connor Willis. He is also survived by his sister, Sue Kubes, and cousin, Wade Birdwell, who were a great source of support to him throughout his life.

Nathan's career was marked by a deep commitment to service. He first worked at HEB Grocery before his role as a parts puller at Gunderson Rail Services. After retiring, he transitioned to a role that brought him great joy-driving a bus for Cleburne Independent School District. Nathan loved his work, and the students and coworkers he interacted with were often considered part of his extended family. He was known for his warm, friendly demeanor and his genuine love for others, especially the children he drove to and from school each day.

Nathan had a deep passion for sports, particularly golf, bowling, and football. He enjoyed every opportunity to engage in these activities especially with his son, whether it was playing a round of golf or cheering on his favorite teams. He was also an avid fan of Elvis Presley and loved attending Elvis impersonator concerts with his friend Joyce Siratt, an experience that always brought him joy.

Above all, Nathan adored being a grandfather. He was a devoted family man who would do anything for his loved ones. His grandchildren, John and Connor, were the light of his life, and his love for them knew no bounds. Nathan's generosity, sense of humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service to honor Nathan's life will be held at First Church of the Nazarene, located at 1721 W Henderson Street in Cleburne, Texas, 76033, on January 18, 2025 at 1:00 PM. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the support and love extended to them during this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nathan's name to the family to help with costs or make a donation to Operation Blessing.
