Keith Simmons

Gregory Keith Simmons “K-Pop”, 65, of Burleson, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 in Burleson.  Keith was born September 9, 1957 in Cleburne to Doris (Hancock) and Grady Lamar Simmons.  He married Cheryl Whitlow on May 24, 1989 in Cleburne.

For many years, Keith was a small business owner before working for Averitt Express as a forklift operator.  His passion was his family and friends and he loved spending time with them on the golf course, throwing horseshoes, or playing cornhole.  Keith loved life to the fullest and that did not change when he was diagnosed with cancer.  Keith battled and won many wars against his cancer for over 6 years, but his ultimate victory came when he met Jesus and became cancer free.

Keith is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Cheryl Simmons of Burleson; son, Chadd and (Stacy) Springer of Aubrey and grandchildren Meghan and Jacob; daughter, Staci and (Gabe) Moore of Aledo and grandchildren Lincoln, Lawson, and Jillian; mother, Doris Simmons of Burleson; brothers, Dick and (Olivia) Simmons of Orlando, Florida and Tim and (Sandra) Simmons of Gurley, Alabama; sister, Kathy and (Don) Davis of Crowley; and many other relatives and friends.  Keith is preceded in death by his father, Grady Simmons.

A special thanks to UTSW Oncology in Dallas; Dr. Suhail Sharif and Brad Maddy with DFW Surgical Oncology in Fort Worth; BSW All Saints medical staff, with a very heart felt thank you to the 7^th floor oncology nurses.  Our final thank you goes to the angels at Community Healthcare of Texas Hospice House where Keith’s final day was spent in peace and comfort.

A memorial service and celebration of Keith’s life will be held on September 9, 2023 at 11:00am at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Keith’s memory be made to the Community Healthcare of Texas - Hospice House at Huguley.
