James Leslie Haddock (86), a retired CISD counselor died at his home at 4:12 a.m. on August 28, 2020.
He will lie in state for open visitation from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2020 at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne, Texas. All family and friends are welcome, however, due to COVID-19, lines should be spaced to allow for social distancing and masks are required.
A private graveside service and burial will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne.
James was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on October 25, 1933 to James Luther Haddock and Lizzie Fox Haddock. He graduated from Central High School in Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. He loved people, his family, his church, and after retirement, found a way to relax by doing artwork. He was a member of the Johnson County Art Guild and The Watercolor Society of Fort Worth.
James came to understand AMAZING GRACE and chose to show love and compassion to all people.
James was proud of his son, Brian, and daughter, Leslie. The grandchildren were pure pleasure and he loved seeing them mature. They always made him proud to be Grandpa James.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Almyra Grace Haddock Ragland, Ella Mae Haddock Hill, and Martha Mae Haddock; brother-in-law Alva Hill; and his children’s mother, Anna Loy Fletcher Haddock Barbre.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Signer Richter Haddock; son, Brian Fletcher Haddock and wife, Misty Michelle Morris Haddock; daughter, Leslie DeAnna Haddock-DeHart and husband, Michael Robert DeHart; brother-in-law, Hermond Ragland and wife, Brenda; grandsons, Cameron Haddock and wife, Morgan, Blake Haddock, and Zachary DeHart; granddaughters, Alexis DeHart and Ciara Haddock; bonus daughters, Jennifer Lyon and husband, Troy and Daphne Hensley and husband, Jack; bonus son, Joe Richter and wife, Dana; bonus granddaughters, Carrie Lyon, Magen Hensley, Amanda Hensley, and Emma Kate Hensley; bonus grandsons, Spencer Lyon and Zachary Richter; great-grandson, Carter Haddock; great granddaughter, Presley Haddock; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
