Obituary for Derek Lynn Hanson
Funeral services for Derek Lynn Hanson, 39, of Godley, Texas will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Bono Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2018 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Derek passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born in Dallas, Texas on July 14, 1979.
Derek was a 1998 graduate of Cleburne High School where he was an active member of FFA, raising and showing many animals.
He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and enjoyed participating in all their activities.
Derek loved his family and friends and he absolutely loved country music.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Anne Adkins; grandfather, Roy Williams; grandmother, Louise Simpson; grandfather, Earl Simpson, grandmother, Barbara Duckett; and grandfather, Bob Duckett.
Derek is survived by his mother and dad, Renae and Randy Simpson, of Godley; father, Buddy Duckett and wife, Destry, of Tyler, Texas; sister, Barbie McClenny and husband, Nathan, of Tyler; brother, Joey Duckett; aunt, Debbie Weaver and husband, Clive, of Amarillo, Texas; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
