Funeral service for Joe Sam Hays, 82, of Cleburne, Texas will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Herzig officiating.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Joe passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 in Cleburne, Texas. He was born in Cleburne, Texas on April 2, 1932 to Lake Erin (Eller) and Linder “Sam” Hays.
He married Andrea Austin on January 4, 1956 in Cleburne, Texas. Joe was a member of the Rio Vista school board for 17 years and also a member of First United Methodist Church. He loved wood carving, farming, and ranching.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchild, Erin Anderson.
Joe is survived by his wife, Andrea Hays; sons, Jody Hays and wife, Robin, and Gil Hays and wife, Bonnie; daughter, Samantha Anderson and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Sam, Ryan, Ally, and Hunter Hays, Rachael, Emily, Audrey, and Ava Anderson; and sister, Jimmie Lynn Burt.
