Christine Holcomb

Christine Elizabeth Elmore Holcomb, born December 21, 1915 in Blum, Texas, passed away September 28, 2012. Christine lived most of her adult life in Dallas. She married Harvey C. Holcomb March 27, 1938. Together they were founding members of the TEJAS Dance Club, maintaining charter membership until the club disbanded in December 2002. After his death in 2003, Christine moved to Cleburne to be near her 2 sisters.
Christine loved life, dancing, family, friends, and animals. She was a pilot, took belly dancing lessons at 65, and parasailed at 70. She was honest, outspoken, and strong willed. She was always helping others.
Mrs. Holcomb was preceded in death by husband, Harvey; parents, Albert A. and Rachel E. Elmore; brother, Bennett; sisters, Louise, Thelma, Ruby, Mildred, and Ruth.
She is survived by daughter, Elizabeth; sister, Freddie McKinney; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in the Rosser Funeral home Chapel with the Rev. Dave Routson officiating. Burial will follow at Blum Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012.
