Funeral services for Sam Hommel, 83, of Cleburne, Texas will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Cleburne Bible Church with Dr. David denHartog officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Rosehill Cemetery.
There is no visitation scheduled.
Sam Hommel passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born in Waco, Texas on October 30, 1936, the son of Mary (Asher) and Fred Hommel.
Sam served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He graduated from the LSU School of Banking in 1976 and was a local banker to many in Cleburne.
Sam married Lana Jo Bailey on April 2, 1960 in Waco. He was a member of Cleburne Bible Church.
Sam is survived by his wife, Lana Jo Hommel of Cleburne; sons, Bill Hommel and wife, Cathy, of Tyler, Texas, Troy Hommel and wife, Brandy, of Burleson, Texas, and Chris Hommel and wife, Tami, of Cleburne; brother, Fred Hommel and wife, Mary Lynne, of Eugene, Oregon; grandchildren, Hayden, Griffin, Jacob, Elizabeth, Mallory, and Will Hommel; special sister-in-law, Susanne Henderson; niece, Lacy Hensley and husband, Jeremy; nephews, Jackson and Joshua Hensley; and several other family members, and friends.
