Ralph Joe “Papa Joe” Horton
Services for Ralph Joe “Papa Joe” Horton, 83, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2011 at Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Papa Joe passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 in Cleburne, Texas. He was born April 16, 1928 in Covington, Texas to Admiral Dewey Horton and Lena Anna Lee Pierce Horton. Papa Joe retired from Santa Fe Railroad where he was supervisor of shop extension.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita Horton; grandson, Michael Paul; and brother Farris Horton.
He is survived by his sons, Rick Horton of Fort Worth, Kerry “Hootie” Horton and wife Deanne of Joshua, Dewey “Scooter” Horton and wife Jackie of Godley; daughters, Drenda “Sis” Roller and husband James, and Farissa “Tooter” Paul all of Cleburne; grandchildren, Scott, Amanda, Shelly, Clint, Wayne, David, Kaley, Madison, Maeci, Jama, Donya, Clay, and Kacie; great-grandchildren, M.J., Jerin, Raelei, Dawson, Delainee, Autum, Deuce, and Gracie; and sisters, Thala McDonald of Hurst and Eunice Lewis of Hillsboro.
