Estelle "Essie" Huneycutt (Miller)
Funeral services for Estelle “Essie” Huneycutt, 91, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lance Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park Cemetery.
There is no set visitation but Mrs. Huneycutt will lie in state from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017.
Essie Huneycutt passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Burleson, Texas. She was born in Mangum, Oklahoma on May 2, 1926 to Cressie (Anglin) and Henry Miller.
Essie married Clyde Huneycutt on December 8, 1944 in Marietta, Oklahoma. She was of the Baptist faith.
Working at Morris Neal’s Handy Hamburgers for many years, Essie cooked hamburgers for musician, Box Car Willie and stars, Dale Robertson, Barry Corbin and Walter Clarence "Buck" Taylor, III better known as Newly on the TV series Gunsmoke. Essie was something of a star herself, The Queen of Hamburgers, having served generations of families in Cleburne where she never met a stranger.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Huneycutt; one sister and two brothers.
Essie is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Seale and husband, Dan, of Lubbock, Texas and Louise Perkins of Burleson; brothers, Sam Miller of Claude, Texas and Edgar “Doc” Miller and wife, Jimmie, of Keene, Texas; sister, Jane Lee and husband, Joe, of Big Spring, Texas; grandchildren, Jeff Seale, Susan Gillispie, Lance Rankin, Lance Perkins, Robin Haney, Becci Wilhite, Doug Zachry and Cara Zachry; 16 great grandchildren; 25 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
