Graveside service for Gilbert Hunter, 82, of Burleson will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2019 in the Rosehill Cemetery. The Reverend Jerry Clements will officiate. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Gilbert Hunter passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2019 in Alvarado. He was born October 18, 1936 in Fort Worth, Texas to Marie Stella (Jewett) and Clarence Abner Hunter. He married his sweetheart, Elizabeth Jean Keen on July 3, 1958 in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Mr. Hunter served in the United States Air Force. He was a retired warehouseman for American Can Company. Gilbert was a member of Lane Prairie Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Weldon Hunter and Charles Hunter; and sisters, Betty Jo Sims, Dorothy Simpson, Francis Blevins and Margaret Hardin.
Survivors include his beloved wife of more than 60 years, Jean Hunter of Burleson; sons, Steve Hunter and wife Aimee of Burleson, Mike Hunter and wife Wendy of Alvarado and Bryan Hunter and wife Amy of Burleson; grandchildren, Keith Hunter, Kevin Hunter and wife Laura, Matt Hunter, Jamie Hunter and wife Sarah, Weston Hunter and Annabeth Hunter; great-great grandchildren, Aiden Hunter and Harper Hunter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
