Funeral services for James Timothy Marrs, Jr., 82, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffreson Marrs, Jay Holland, Jonathan Marrs, Bradley Holland, Jonathan Franks, and Mike Felts.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Rosser Funeral Home.
James Timothy Marrs, Jr was born May 4, 1941 to James Timothy and Ruth Pierce Marrs and passed from this life on April 11, 2024. "Buddy" grew up in Fort Worth where he met Joycelyn, the love of his life, in high school. After high school Jim served 3 years in the US Army where he found his passion for electronics. He spent his entire professional career in the power generation field, with Texas Electric Service Company/TESCO and TXU, retiring as Manager of Telecommunications for TXU. After retirement, Jim and Joycelyn moved to Cleburne where they were active members of Field Street Baptist Church.
Jim is preceded in death by Joycelyn, his wife of 54 years, granddaughter Chelsea Marrs, and great granddaughter Madison Marrs.
He is survived by children Jeff Marrs (Laura Browne), Julie Holland (Rusty), and Joel Marrs (Elaine), granddaughter Christina Phillips (Steve), grandsons Jeffreson Marrs (Kristi), Jay Holland (Heather), Bradley Holland (Alexa), and Jonathan Marrs (Deonna), 6 great grandchildren, and wonderful friends Ron and Suzanne Barry.
