James Dwight McCarley

James Dwight McCarley, 79, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 peacefully at his home in Joshua, Texas.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4:00 P.M., Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne.

James Dwight McCarley was born on November 13, 1943 in Blue Ridge, Texas to Charline Ann (Fagg) and Argus Lester McCarley. He married his sweetheart, Peggy Burns in July of 1972 in Irving, Texas.

James enjoyed shooting and hunting, traveling, the beach, refinishing furniture, and spending time with his family and friends. He was of the Church of Christ faith. James was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Anita Kay McCarley; and sons, John Andrew McCarley and Jonathan Casey McCarley.

Survivors include his beloved wife of more than 50 years, Peggy McCarley; son, James Daniel McCarley; one grandson, James Daniel McCarley II; and a host of other extended family and friends.
