Obituary for Mary Carolyn Jernigan (Radford)
Memorial services for Mary Carolyn Jernigan, 77, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 in Shipp Chapel, Lovers Lane Methodist Church, 9200 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX.
A private interment ceremony will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, Texas, at a future date and time.
Mary Carolyn Jernigan, 77, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, in Tyler, Texas.
Carolyn and her twin brother, Malcom, were born to Eva O’dell and James Vertis Radford in Beaumont, Texas, on December 5, 1935.
She was preceded in death by her parents, O’dell and James; brothers, Malcom and Wendell Radford; her son, David Jernigan; and grandchildren, Christopher and Molly Jordan.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Samuel Carlyle Jernigan; her children, Kathryn, Jim, Julia, Sharon, Bruce and Bryan; grandchildren, Loren, Curtis, Mary Anne, Scott, Trisha, Landon, Laighton, Garrett, Carleigh, Carter, Cason, Audrey and Andrew; and great grandchild, Addison.
Memorial donations may be made in her honor to The Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, TX 75701 or to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA, 90266. Donations may also be made online at www.pancan.org.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the Hospice of East Texas for their kindness, patience and support during her final days.
