John Walton, Jr.

March 6, 1939 — March 4, 2023

Cleburne, Texas

John Walton, Jr.

John Allen Walton, born March 6, 1939 in Dayton, KY, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away on March 4, 2023 at the age of 84 (yes, we are giving him the 84 he hoped for).

He is survived by his daughter, Trish Walton Fannin and son-in- law, Glenn Fannin;  grandson, Dr. Alex Fannin and granddaughter-in-law, April Fannin;  sister, Joan; brothers, Jerry, Jeff, and Jay; and more adopted grandchildren and grand-fur babies than we can name.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Patsy Jo Roy Walton; his sister, June; and his brothers, Jim and Joe.

John was the eldest of eight.   He was an electrical engineer who had the opportunity to work around the world implementing control systems in steel plants in some amazing places and not so amazing places.  His favorite saying from his childhood from his grandfather was “Do right and fear no man”.  He lived his life by that.  His sense of humor and his acceptance of all will be truly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Community Hospice of Texas in his memory at 501 North Ridgeway Drive, Cleburne, TX, 76033 or to the Community Food Bank of Fort Worth, https://www.food-bank.org/donate/ where he loved working at Christmas with the toy drive.
