Evelyn Lorece Joslin was born in Cleburne, Texas on November 3, 1924. She passed away peacefully in the company of her loving family on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. She married Elvis Lowell Joslin on April 29, 1941, in Cleburne. They were married 71 years.
Shortly following their marriage, Lowell was called to serve his country in WWII. During his deployment, Lorece worked at Convair building airplanes in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a real “Rosie the Riveter”. Once Lowell returned home from the South Pacific, they were soon blessed with two sons, Michael and Dan.
In addition to raising her two boys, whom she dearly loved, Lorece worked at Cleburne Drug Store, owned Evelyn’s Drive-In on Main Street, and later worked for CISD in the cafeteria of Cook Elementary.
Following her husband’s retirement in 1982, Lowell and Lorece spent much of their time at their farm, raising cattle and gardening. Lorece was also an active member of her church and enjoyed going on mission trips, sharing the Lord’s Word and helping to feed those they were ministering to, as well as the other volunteers.
Lorece was a loving woman who dearly loved her family and who served the Lord faithfully. She touched many lives and will be remembered for her giving heart. She never took a moment in her life for granted and was ever thankful to the Lord for her many blessings.
While she will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her, we are comforted knowing she is at peace in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ and her husband, Lowell, who passed away three weeks ago on May 12, 2012.
Lorece is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ludie Revier; husband, Lowell; sister, Gladys Booth; nephew, Perry Wayne Morgan; and niece, Dana Stovall.
She is survived by sons, Michael and wife, Sybil, and Dan and wife, Cheryl; grandchildren, Scott and wife, Christina, Chris, Timothy and wife, Cindy, Paul and wife, Kate, Tamara and husband, William Lain, and Cindia Winsett; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; sisters, Cora May Chasteen, Juanita McCollum, Ruby Lee Hackworth, and Letricia Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
