Obituary for Emily Christine King (McKinney)

A Celebration of Life service for long time Cleburne resident, Emily Christine King, 97, of Houston, Texas will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Cleburne, Texas. The Rev. Robert Herzig will officiate.
Mrs. King passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Houston. She was born in Dallas, Texas on December 25, 1919, the daughter of Hanzel (Cole) and Lester L. McKinney.
Christine married Ed King on November 16, 1940 in Los Angeles, California.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cleburne for many years, was a homemaker and a great mother and grandmother.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Brooks McKinney, and husband, Ed King.
She is survived by her son, Bob King and wife, Marilyn, of Cleburne; daughter, Karen King Wilson of Houston; grandchildren, Robert King and wife, Ann-Katherine, Mary Nell Andrus and husband, John, Amy King Shellenberger, Emily Wilson Morrisett and husband, Phillip, Sarah King Wilson, Julie Michelle Wilson, Anna Wilson Reppert and husband, Todd, and Carrie Wilson Knowles and husband, Jeff; great-grandchildren, Sara King, Grant King, Claire Andrus, Meredith Andrus, Caroline Shellenberger, Audrey Shellenberger, Alex Shellenberger, Caroline Morrisett, Lauren Morrisett, Luke Wilson, Andrew Reppert, Kendall Reppert, Courtney Reppert, Lawson Knowles, Emma Knowles and Bryson Knowles; and a host of nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
The family would like to thank Christine’s devoted caregivers: Donna Poe, Annabella Sanchez, Carmen Hernandez and Norma Stokley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Children’s Advocacy Center, 910 N. Granbury Street, Cleburne, TX 76033.
